Military Service

This page is a tribute and thanks to those family members who have served the United States with honor in some branch of the service. The first family member to be in the service was Arthur Dumes, seated in uniform, with his younger brother William. They were two of the sons of Chaim and Sheina (Sadie) Dumes. Arthur joined the Army in 1918. However, because Arthur didn't list his military experience in the 1930 census, it means that he didn't serve overseas. Only Abe Schultz, who married Anna Dumes, actually served 'over there', according to the 1930 census records.

During World War 2, many family members answered their nation's call to service. If I have left anyone out, please let me know!

We have a bunch of photos and movies of family in uniform, so I'm going to put some here in no particular order. Maybe I'll organize it better later.
