Dumes Key: ACF The 'Dumes Key' is an easy way to determine someone's place in the family tree.

At the top of the tree are brothers Chaim (A), Jossel-Leib (B) and Schender (C). Each generation adds a letter; the letter represents your birth order, A for the 1st, B for the 2nd, etc.

So Sarah, first child of Chaim, is AA. Her husband, Jacob Kaplan, is Aa, the lower-case a indicating that he married into the Dumes family.

I've also used the lower-case letter for my two step-sons to indicate a non-bloodline Dumes relationship.

Harry Stanley Lieberman

Dec 18, 1926 - Mar 31, 2021

Harry Stanley Lieberman passed away peacefully on March 31, 2021. He was 94 years young. He was a loving husband and father who always put family and friends above all else. As a lifelong educator and learner he never hesitated to help others, to teach others, and to discover the joy in new things.

His lifetime achievements include being a member of the Sons in Retirement, Commodore of the Golden Gate Yacht Club in 1962 and achieving the rank of Master of the Free and Accepted Masons, Phoenix Lodge #144. He was a teacher and counselor in the San Francisco Unified School District for over 30 years.

Throughout his life, he prioritized being there for his family: physically, emotionally, intellectually, financially, and every other way. This dedication was evidenced by his enthusiastic support of all family endeavors and presence at numerous quilt shows, little league games, band concerts, bike races, photography exhibits, and robot competitions to name a few. At each event, Harry was fully present and genuinely interested and deeply proud of his family. Around the house, he enjoyed tinkering and fixing things, especially when he could engage his children and grandchildren in the projects.

He remained a loyal fan of the Giants, 49ers, and Warriors, and enjoyed watching the games with family.

Harry is survived by his wife of 60 years, Caroline, and their sons, Andrew (wife Tomasa and two children, Lisa and Stan) and Norman (wife Jen and two children, Jayna and Nathan).

The family thanks Harry's dedicated caregivers (Junior, Noel, Jonathan, and Ben) for their years of support and Home Sweet Home Assisted Living and Heartland Hospice for making Harry's final months as comfortable as possible.
